Packaging and augmented reality
Augmented reality is beginning to make inroads into the retail sector. Initially designed for purely practical purposes (superimposing graphic or textual information on locations, visualizing objects in the home, etc.), certain applications are enabling a new way of understanding point-of-sale advertising, or enhancing information on packaging and/or product labels. A few months ago, a company launched an "Augmented Reality" operation in partnership with the Heinz brand, enabling consumers who have installed the application to access a wealth of additional information, such as recipes, fact sheets or even enter a competition. The application then invites consumers to share on social networks. The world of packaging is thus taking the path of modernity, as this type of augmented reality is not an electronic gadget, but rather a way of radically changing the way consumers interact with their favorite brands in the real world.Keep your eyes peeled, because now the packaging (folding cartons & self-adhesive labels) on store shelves has things to tell you. Alternative and its technology partner can help you adapt your packaging with an augmented reality application. Source : http://www.presse-citron.net/la-realite-augmentee-franchit-un-nouveau-cap
